Seeing the Invisible
This project is about seeing, walking and forgetting. It is about faces, hands, gaps in memory and mementoes. It is about eyewitnesses, whose numbers are dwindling. Much of what eyewitnesses or close relatives have witnessed or felt is, in truth, unspeakable. And this is precisely where photography can demonstrate its strength: in translating into images events that were directly witnessed by only a few people still alive today and which remain incomprehensible to this day. Into images that show not the horror, but the people. In this project, the visible and the invisible are two inseparable entities that cling to one another and speak of absence.
